'Silk on silk is lovely…despite the danger.'

Tennessee Williams, Vieux Carre

Swamp Salon is constructed from a series of new sculpture and video works that combine to create an indistinct meeting place for separate elements, linked by shared narrative fragments.

The scene is set by Charles Laughton's 'The Night of the Hunter'(1955) and the motif of 'Leda and the Swan' in Greek mythology, in which Zeus transformed into a swan and seduced Leda.

Swamp Salon is Paige Perkins' second solo show, following her 2008 installation at Grey Area entitled 'The Elect, Soft Restriction'. She lives and works in London.

A Love and Hate Lullaby where natural forces tangle with machines and desire.
